After seeing all the surfers riding the waves with ease in Byron bay I bought a 500 dollar surfboard myself. Surfing isn't my thing and in total I surfed for two weeks.. Carrying the surfboards (my friend bought one to) for 5000 km throughout Australia. The plan was selling the board in cairns but on the way there the board fell of the roof wile I was doing 120 kmh. I had enough, especially when I found out there isn't a surf scene in Cairns and now way of selling the board here..
(Episode 1) On the 2nd July 2008 a big swell hit the Torquay area, making the surf too big for most people to surf Bells Beach and the other local breaks. It was school holidays and dozens of local groms hit Fishos, for the best surf at Fishos in a long time. The Dads of the groms were also out there on their mals. If you were surfing there late in the morning you may just feature in this video! Check the amazing finless surfboard!
